Katie and Ben’s Woodhouse Barn wedding
Katie and Ben’s wedding was held at an absolutely stunning venue near Milford Haven in West Wales called Woodhouse Barn. As the name suggests, it’s a converted barn but the interior is nothing like I’ve seen in other rustic barn venues I’ve shot at, but you’ll have to scroll down through the photos to see what I mean.
Morning preparations
Katie and her bridal party got ready at a local hotel near Milford Haven.
The ceremony
Ben and the boys were finishing off getting ready as I arrived at the venue, after greeting some of the guests they gathered in Woodhouse Barn’s ceremony room the ‘Hen House’, a very rustic roundhouse filled with fairy lights.

After I had taken family and group shots, everyone enjoyed ‘The Sheep Dip Bar’ and lawn games while I took Katie and Ben for a little walk around the venue for a few relaxed photos. Then it was time to join everyone in the barn for the start of the reception.
The epic party
The evening celebrations started with Katie and Ben’s first dance and pretty soon everyone joined in. The barn is such an amazing space to have a party, the dancefloor is the full length of the center of the room, surrounded by tables so everyone stays close to the action. Katie and Ben booked me for my relaxed, natural documentary style of photography which captures spontaneous and intimate moments throughout the day.
A little sunset walk
The day had been very windy but as the sun sank to the horizon the wind dropped and it became very peaceful, Katie and Ben had already said if there was a sunset to grab them for a few minutes. For many of my couples, this can be such an important part of their day, it’s been pretty non-stop up to this point and suddenly having the opportunity to take five minutes is great to absorb and recharge. Just after the sun set the band took a break which was the perfect time to light the sparklers. Then it was back to the dance floor for the rest of the night.
