Wedding photography at Fforest Farm, West Wales
I first met Jess and Damian at a wedding two years ago, I was the photographer and they were lead singer and guitarist in the live band called The Beatz, they sounded amazing and gave a fantastic performance. As I was leaving late in the evening I stopped to say hi, after a little chat and a quick selfie and I headed home. A few weeks later I received a message from Jess asking if I would be their wedding photographer. AWESOME!!
A little update to the blog below, I’m very honoured to have won a collection award with inspirationphotographers.com with a set of 20 curated images from Jess and Damian’s day to tell the story with only natural, unstaged images.

Making a weekend of it at Fforest Farm
One lovely thing about Fforest Farm is that you can make it a whole weekend event. Family and friends can stay in wooden cabins and eco domes, as well as the farmhouse. You can have a meal/party the night before. At a previous wedding here everyone sat under the stars eating freshly made pizza with their band playing as they’d driven up from London for the weekend. For Jess and Damian’s ‘night before’ hot food was served indoors and then everyone drank and played games in ‘the smallest pub in Wales’ (which is at Fforest next to the converted barn) and then sat around a fire pit after last orders.

The wedding morning
Jess got ready in the farmhouse with her family while Damian was in one of the wooden cabins with his groomsmen. This meant I could catch everything going on throughout the morning.
Then the guys walked to the barn where the ceremony would be held. Jess and her dad drove a few hundred yards and walked the final few to arrive to a beautifully decorated room full of family and friends.

Fforest Farm wedding photos
The ceremony was full of giggles and tears, Jess looked beautiful in her Grace Loves Lace wedding dress. Afterwards we took some little family shots and I took Jess and Damian for a walk around the venue for photographs, Jess was now also wearing her new jacket made by The Mermaid Effect. While we were shooting and the guests were having their reception drinks the staff at Fforest quickly turned the barn around ready for the reception.
By the time food and speeches were finished it was getting dark and it was the perfect time for sparklers, It’s always fun to do and a chance for everyone to get involved.

The party
There was no doubt in my mind that this was going to be one of the most lively reception parties ever. A lot of the guests were musicians and part of wedding bands that I work with on a regular basis so I was very excited to see which band Jess and Damian had booked. I have never seen a stadium lighting setup in a small barn before, but that’s what it felt like when the lads from The Miami Vibe 80’s Band took to the stage. It was EPIC and the crowd loved it.

Here’s a big shout out to two of the loveliest guys to work with, the videographers on the day Richard and Steve it was a pleasure to be shoulder to shoulder with you again.
