An American wedding at two Swansea venues, Morgans Hotel and Ocean View Gower
Michelle and Brad have a wonderful story. They are both from Minnesota, USA with no links to Wales. They both came to Swansea, South Wales to attend University, but didn’t meet until they were here. They spent their time studying and enjoying the Gower coast, eventually moving back to America together. They love travelling and when they decided to get married they brought all their family and friends back to have their wedding in Wales and experience this beautiful little corner of the world.
We had spoken via the internet a couple of times, but the first time I met them was the day before the wedding when we had planned a meeting and a little pre-wedding photoshoot. I had noticed on their facebook pictures they used to visit Three Cliffs Bay in Gower while at University, so this was the obvious choice of location.
We had a lovely couple of hours taking in the spectacular views and getting to know each other a bit.
The wedding day began at Morgans Hotel in Swansea and was planned around a more traditional American wedding which included a ‘first look’ when Brad finally got to see his beautiful bride before the ceremony. Then we took a little trip out of Swansea with the bridal party to Rhossili Bay for photographs. Not only did they experience the ‘slightly’ windy Rhossili cliffs but also the spectacular fields of sunflowers.
The ceremony was held at Ocean View and after drinks and canapes guests hopped on a bus back to Morgans Hotel for the reception while I took Michelle and Brad to Weobley Castle for some more photographs, this was another reason for coming back to Wales.
The rest of the evening was a full-on party and I don’t remember a wedding where every single person was on the dancefloor.
