Erica and Lloyd’s Gileston Manor wedding
Erica and Lloyd’s day was my first more “normal” wedding since covid restrictions began to ease back in May. Details had changed a few times, the first plan of tipis on Erica’s parent’s land had to be drastically changed and scaled down to a restaurant with a handful of family. But then things started looking up and opening up and although numbers were still reduced it meant they could have a bigger day. At the very last minute, they managed to book a date at Gileston Manor, a beautiful manor house near Cardiff, surrounded by stunning walled gardens and amazing views along with a couple of marquees to cater for different sized weddings.
There are some useful supplier links as you scroll down and some more at the bottom of this post.
Bridal preparations at home
Erica got ready with her bridesmaids at her parents home a stone’s throw from the church. Walter the dog was around to hoover up any breakfast crumbs and he does feature a fair bit in this blog. One of my favourite shots from the morning was just as Erica was putting on her dress, I was heading to the room and just caught a glimpse of the back detail of her Martina Liana dress through the door.

The church ceremony
Because of restrictions in place, there were limited numbers allowed in the church, but many more friends gathered outside and after the ceremony there was a mini drinks reception before we headed off to the venue.

The reception
On arrival at the venue everyone enjoyed a beautiful sunny drinks reception in the gardens. Walter was on crumbs duty again. The wedding breakfast was held in the Secret Garden, an intimate marquee dressed by Luxe Touch

The party
After the speeches, everyone headed to the walled garden for some very competitive garden games and space hopper races. Finally heading back to the Secret Garden as the light faded for some interesting karaoke performances.
