DIY community hall wedding Pembrey South Wales
The day began, pouring with rain, lots and lots of rain but in South Wales that’s normal and spirits were high at Jemima’s parent’s house where everyone was chipping in preparing food for the Community hall wedding reception along with some very colourful and possibly potent cocktails, as well as getting ready for the ceremony at st Illtyd’s Church. All went well until the happy couple walked down the aisle and a tropical-style rainstorm appeared out of nowhere. Everyone waited patiently in the Church for a few minutes until it passed and then made their way up the hill to the Community Hall while I took Jemima and Dyfrig to Pembrey Country Park for photographs.
Now, to say it was windy would be an understatement but this is where they had chosen to go and they embraced it.
Jemima and Dyfrig chose Pembrey Memorial Community Hall as their wedding venue. It’s a large hall but basically a blank canvas to create whatever you want. Fairy lights were strung across the ceiling and freshly picked summer flowers filled jars on the tables. Jemima’s father had created a collection of lawn games which were put to full use, in fact a new game of SPEED croquet was invented by some of the guests and I think everyone should try it. There was also some pretty aggressive Swing-Ball.
It was a perfect chilled out wedding. And the moment I saw the sun about to set I gave Dyfrig the nod and he picked up his beautiful new wife, chucked her over his shoulder and ran to the car 😀
