Steph and Joel’s wedding celebration at Caer Llan, Monmouth
Wedding part two
Steph and Joel like so many other couples had their 2020 wedding plans turned upside down due to the pandemic and the restrictions put in place. The plan was to get married at Fairyhill in Gower in December 2020, in the end they went ahead with a small ceremony with limited guests, with the intention of having a bigger celebration later.
In the year and a half that followed they moved away from the area to relocate near Monmouth where wedding planning began again and with a new venue, the stunning Caer Llan
morning preparations
The morning was spent with family at their home in the Forest of Dean. I arrived to the smell of bacon, Joel was feeding everyone while Steph was having her make up done.

Caer Llan
When Steph and Joel arrived at the venue their guests were waiting and after drinks and canapés I gathered everyone for some group photos, it was amazing to see everyone together as only a handful of family had been allowed at the wedding back in 2020.

hot air balloon at Caer Llan
Steph and Joel love hot air ballooning, in fact most of the family are involved and they all compete in racing around the world. The original wedding plan in 2020 involved a night glow with a selection of balloons, but again due to restrictions that wasn’t possible. Steph brought her balloon to Caer Llan in the hope that if the weather allowed they would have a chance to inflate it. And after a little walk around the grounds as the sun was setting they decided the conditions were right. We had talked about a photo inside the balloon for the last few years since they originally booked me, and finally everything came together to make it happen.

wedding sparklers
After the ballooning excitement, we finished off the night with dancing and sparklers.
